Have Friends, Will Travel Singles Don't Have to Travel Alone.
Listening to an acquaintance rave about trips to the mountains, San Francisco, and/or the Caribbean, you might think, “I wish I could travel like that!
But I don’t like the idea of traveling alone, and I have limited funds.”
Don’t let being a single on a small budget spoil big plans! Share the fun--and
the expenses--with a friend! Traveling in groups of two or more allows travelers to share the majestic mountaintop views—and the hotel, rental car, and other costs.
Don’t have a best friend? No matter. Simply find someone who has interests similar to yours—it could be your occasional jogging-in-the-park partner or online friend.
When traveling, you’ll get to know someone even better. In fact, travel experts say that you don’t really know someone until you’ve traveled with him or her! For example,
you may know that your friend likes the beach, but until you take a vacation with her or him, you wouldn’t realize your friend could bake on the beach for 15 hours per day,
five days straight!
Randy Siegel attests that traveling with a friend is a great way to see the world. When he married, he and his wife traveled everywhere together. However, when they divorced,
Siegel wondered if his traveling days were over. Then he realized that he could travel with friends!
He is delighted to state that “six years after my divorce, I am traveling as much as I ever did.”
But how do you know which of your friends will make a good travel partner. The next section of this article will tell you how.
