Friends are Found in Many Places
Who finds a faithful friend, finds a treasure.-- Jewish Saying *
This morning during his bath, my three-year-old placed a Tigger puppet on one finger and a Mickey Mouse puppet on the next. “Look at what I’ve got--two friends,” my son announced as he happily wiggled the two smiling puppets.
As my son demonstrates, no one is too young to know the value of friendship. However, though all of us value friendship, not all of us have friends.
Some people seem to attract friends the way honey attracts Winnie the Pooh.
But most of us must do a little searching to find that special person who makes us feel good about ourselves and the world.
“Where do I find friends? Where do people I know find friends?” I asked myself, ignoring my husband, who asked who I was talking to. As I wrote a list of answers, I realized that friends are found in many places, from churches and classrooms to websites and softball fields. Because real friends can be found through both traditional channels and modern ones, I organized my list into “Offline” and “Online” locations.
